Prime Black had a strong finish at the Alliance National Championship in Indianapolis, IN. Black won six games for the week and surged into the Final 3 of Tier III.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (7/24) - Prime Black got off to a slow start and finished on a heartbreaking note, but in between rode a heat wave for a strong performance at the Alliance Fastpitch National Championship in Indianapolis, IN. One of the premier events in the country, the AFCS features some of the best players and teams in America and virtually every college in the country attends the event to recruit. Prime experienced heartbreak early, but found its footing as the tournament went on to surge into the final 3.

"This was the best event, I, personally, have ever been to," Prime Director and Black Coach Jay Lupo said. "Truly, the best players and teams in America were all there. We faced one team with legit 15 Power 5 signees. And everybody we faced had a littany of P5 guys. But we held our own, for sure."

Black would eventually lose to Hotshots National 18U to bow out of the tournament after playing 11 games.

Sterritt, Lyle earn all-tourney nods in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (7/24) - Any team finishing in the final 4 of the AFCS earn dual all-tournament bids. With Prime Black's 3rd place finish, 2025 Alaina Lyle and 2026 Skylar Sterritt got the nod for the week.

Sterritt was a revelation in the event with a trail of Power 5 coaches following her all week, including head Hog Courtney Deifel. She hit .583 (21-of-36) for the week w/ 6 XBH, 3 HR's, 9 RBIs 23 runs and a jaw-dropping 24 stolen bases.

"We saw so many good players all week," Prime Black Coach Jay Lupo said. "But she was the best one we saw. Nobody impacted their team more. Coaches were literally drooling over her.

"This sequence sums it up, facing a battery of Florida State and Baylor commits. She singled off the FSU kid. Stole second first pitch on the Baylor kid. 2 pitches later, she stole third. The pitch after that, she stole home. And she was incredible defensively all week, too."

Lyle, one of the best two-way prospects in the state and a Ouachita Baptist commit, hit .429 w/ 5 XBH in 11 games. In the circle, she was 2-0 with a save and 14 strikeouts compared to just 5 walks in 23 innings pitched.

"Alaina did what she does and did it on a very big stage," Lupo said. "I was really proud of her."

Sterritt is Indy's fastest, strongest arm

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (7/24) - Prime 2026 Skylar Sterritt had a massive week in Indianapolis at the Alliance National Championship.

She hit .583 w/ 3 HR's and stole 24 bases in 11 games. She was amazing defensively all week. She had a long line of coaches following her throughout the duration and would eventually parlay her performance into an offer and subsequent commitment from SEC Power Arkansas.

But ... before she did all that, she laid claim to both the "Fastest Woman" and "Strongest Arm" skill titles at the event's opening ceremonies.

Sterritt ran a 10.06 home-to-home to capture the speed title and her overhand velocity of 77 mph was tops at the event as well to claim the strongest arm.

"She's a freak," Prime Director Jay Lupo said. "We've seen all that before. So I knew she'd be up there in both events. But even I didn't realize she'd win both at an event like this.

"And she stumbled around first. She breaks 10 if she doesn't. A sub-10 home-to-home ... I mean, wow. And her arm is just insane. She'll be an 80 mph kid before she goes to college. She's a one percenter."

18 Natty wins Alliance Central ship in NWA

BENTONVILLE, AR (7/24) - Prime 18U National went 6-1 and topped Iowa Premier National Yegge in a 3-game series to win the Alliance Central Championship in Bentonville.

2025 Arkansas Tech signee Abby Lowery hit .588 with 7 RBIs and 9 runs to lead the way at the plate. Iowa commit and 2025 Jadyn Pankow hit .500 and hit two home runs - one a walkoff to top Iowa Premier 2-1 in seven innings. And Ouachita Baptist signee 2025 Alaina Lyle added a .462 weekend with a homerun and 5 RBIs.

Lyle was an animal in the circle logging a 0.50 ERA in 16 innings to go with 17 strikeouts and five walks. But it was Hill College signee and 2025 Addison Cooper that perhaps stepped up more than anybody. After 2025 UCA signee Emory Bowlin went down in Game 1, Cooper was left to shoulder a large load. She did just that, sporting a 2.07 ERA over 19.1 innings. She threw a complete game in Prime's 8-1 championship win, failing to yield an earned run.

"Addy Coop was massive in this tournament," Prime Coach Jay Lupo said. "She stepped up and threw her best ball of the summer when her team needed her the most. Her performance was huge in the championship."
